I had a similiar problem after not fully dissolving corn syrup and dry malt
in a brew and it was lumpy before fermentation began. Although if you
boiled it before adding to fermenter then this the same problem (if it is a problem).

I used 1kg of honey in one of my brews with 1kg of malt and Choc. Porter and some Tettenager hops to balance that out. The honey flavour was quite strong, but if anything it was too hoppy. I've still got some sitting around as I wasn't too fond of it. Don't know if it was the Cascade Porter, too ...

Thanks guys. Still not much activity. Might try raising the temp a bit because it has fallen to 11C. If its still not going in a day or two I guess the yeast was dead or something. I did pitch two sachets but didn't re-hydrate. We'll see how it goes.

The current temp is 13C. There is a little condensation, but no frothing or activity in the airlock. Is ...

Hey Wassa,
1. I'm filling the bottles with a "little bottler" from the coopers brew kit.
2. I am using dextrose to prime.
3. Yes I am letting it settle then refilling, but it takes ages and I'm worried about an infection setting in.
I thought maybe an infection had already set in but it tastes OK ...

New to brewing, have a problem?

Hey guys,

Have been lurking around this site for a few months and have been brewing for about the same amount of time. I have a small problem with my brew at the moment: the amount of froth. There is so much I can only fill my bottles to about 3/4 full unless I let them overflow. Is this a problem ...
