They are all lagers brewed at 10 C then temp risen to 16-18 to finish them off and the D rest. They also tasted a bit sour but looked ok in the bottle with no gunk or film on the top. once bottled after lagering they were left at room temp. Have done 4 batches the same as this without any probs, so ...

Upon opening a Morgans Blue mountain lager the contents spew out of the bottle. It taste like apple and is ultra carbonated. This has never happened before so am thinking it is an infection of some sort. problem is this was the first yeast which I harvested for 2 more brews after that ...

not sure where the leak is coming from, but maybe you can try and screw the tap in a bit further ?. As for an infection if you have a second fermenter you could rack it ? or just leave it in the hands of the beer gods.

Another good place to get your bottles is your local recycling centre. I have found hundreds of bottles this way. I only keep the 750 ml bottles and my kids sell of the 800ml bottles for about $12 for 50...keeps them interested in helping to collect them :)

Bottling Froth

G'day all

I have a Coopers IPA on at the moment which has 700gms of LDM and about 850 gms of Dex and kit yeast....will be a stong brew I reckon, am bottling today so will taste the hydro reading ...

Bottle sanitisation

G'day all

Am interested in hearing your different methods for sanitising your bottles and fermenter for that matter.
I use unscented bleach but want to move away from it if possible.

Is there any other cheap and simple methods people use that work.?

Hi All

Below is a response from Coopers I got today...seems to answer the question.

"Hello Phill. If the packets were supposed to contain EXACTLY the right
number of drops, people would invariably be left one short occasionally. Far
better to provide a few extra (actually 10 or 15) so that there ...

Coopers Carbonation drops

Hi All

Not sure if this has been mentioned before:

Am using the Coopers Carbonation drops and the packet serving size says 60 drops with 1 drop being one serving..I am also using the Coopers 740ml PET bottles so I use 2 drops per bottle. So If I do my maths right (or wrong) one full packet should ...

First timer

Hi all

Just bought my spanking new Coopers micro kit. Am like a kid in a lolly shop. Have been reading with interest this site, and am wondering about the brew sugar they give you (standard Cooppers brew sugar) have read that I should use dextrose or something else, as the standard is not much chop ...
