Re: Promash or Beersmith which one

Promash here

It's a matter of what you get used to

Once you know you way around promash and have set up just right it's great

I tried to make the switch to beersmith but didn't like interface

Re: Grain mills

I've had a marga for a while

Just upgraded to a 3 Roller Monster Mill

I'd definitely go for the 2 Roller MM over the marga if funds allow - it's worth the extra dosh

Heading to singleton to spend xmas with SWMBO's family

Bringing my 12L party keg with a mongrel batch in it which is drinking rather nicely

1/3 Oktoberfest
1/3 Pilsener
1/3 American Wheat

Probably indulge in some eggnog too!

Though probably not at the same time

Batch sparging is the way to go

Easier, quicker - and fairly decent efficiencies

For the cost of a little extra malt - I don't see the benefit of fly sparging - unless of course you have the time / passion

I mash in at 3x - drain the tun quickly - then dump in all my sparge water - stir - sit for ...

What dispensing pressure does every one use for their bronco?

I had a nightmare getting a decent pour - even at very low pressures

I'd just use the gelatine - it'll drop out of suspension anyway

Does that mean you can't eat sweets where gelatine has been used as a setting agent?

Also means you can't use isinglass as a fining it's made from the transparent air bladders of fish
