I think the Brewcraft fermenters are the very best. They're just very sturdy and reliable.

Re: First batch is a brewin'

It's a BrewCraft kit and came with a can of Munich Lager, which is, I'm assuming a reasonably safe first timer beer? I have to admit though, I was surprised to find the can full of a thick liquid. For some reason I thought it would be a powder.

My first brew was a Brewcraft Munich Lager and I ...

I made the Beermakers Bitter with 50/50 and there was no hop flavour, aroma and very little bitterness.

Purely for novelty purposes. It's great to see a friend who's face has been turned inside-out from one sip of this venom :D

I've got plenty of bottles, plenty of room, plenty of money, plenty of time, and plenty of friends/foes to feed my poison to

Ridiculously Bitter

I'm going to do a fairly pointless experiment to make the most bitter beer I can from a kit. I aim to make it simply undrinkable.

I was thinking a two can brew with no added fermentables and an arse load of Sticklebract hops. Final volume around 20L should do the trick.

I was wondering, how long ...

Yeh I'd go with the two can brew with some low AA hops like Cascade for flavour and aroma.
15g boiled for 15 minutes and 10g steeped in very hot water for 10 minutes is probably what I'd do.

Morgan's Blue Mountain Lager
Morgan's Master Blend Lager Malt 1kg
25g Hersbrucker Hops
Saflager W34/70

Very excited :D

Normally I would recommend some Saaz hops but I've never tried this kit either so I can't really tell ...

Lager Yeast

Predicted answer: "Do a search"
I'd love too, but I'm tired from Christmas shopping.

Anyway, my question is, is it absolutely necessary to do a yeast starter when using Saflager? I'm putting down a lager tomorrow and I was wondering if I could just pitch directly into the wort at around 12°C ...

I really wish O & G would update the tastings for the Millenium Ale.
I've been interested in this subject for quite a while and have never gotten around to brewing a "long-termer". I've got so many damned ideas in my head that never manage to make it to brewing stage

1kg Morgan's Liquid Lager Malt
25g Hersbrucker Hops

I'm making this in a week but to get me hands on the Saflager before then will be a hastle.

My question is, should I put off making it until I can get the Saflager or will the Morgan's ...
