Thanks for the replies gents.
Ed.
Are you always right ?
Yesterday arvo I cracked the top and released the gas.
This morning I did it again to see what was happening... gas
It's now after 1pm and I tried pouring... only about 25 mm of head..
Looks like I have a little gas to get rid of.

Thanks ...

When I open the bottle there is the usual amount of gas with no foaming.
When I pour it goes straight to foam with about 1cm of beer & the rest Head.....
The priming was the same as norm with 2 measures of dextrose to each bottle.

can't work this one out...

Unpourable beer

I bottled a Coopers Real Ale & 750 gms BE2 on 13/9/06.
I cannot pour it as the glass is all bubbles.
The colour is Ok... Smell is Ok.. just all head.

Anyone got any suggestions... will it get better ?
Don't want to Chuck it...

Emo,
Errr, why would you want low alcohol beer? I certainly don't.

Mr. Green

Just ad sugars to suit your target alcohol.
I was referring to the ferment temps. Coopers say upto 27 degrees is ok. I have pitched the yeast at 34 degrees and all went Ok...
Don't know about the taste suiting others ...

" I have been brewing for about a year now, and have made about 7 brews.
The first 4 were all basic kit and kilo, 2 with coopers brewing sugar and then 2 with brew enhancer 2. Most were drinkable, but farily boring beers as you can imagine."

I am wondering how long you left your brews ...

Alcohol percentage

What alcohol percentage do you brew.

Thought this would be interesting.
These ranges are only to make this poll easier.

Ok so back to the thread....
Bottling is made easier using a magic wand http://www.users.on.net/~rawlco/wand.jpg .
To make this you will need 1.5 metres of food grade tubing ( Home Brew Store ) to fit the top of your bottler.
Cut 35 mm from the top of your bottler to make an adapter to fit between ...

Hello Emo,
Welcome to the world of brewing.
Take your time using the kits and trying different sugar mixes- you learn the differences in taste & body etc. that way.
If you have any questions do a search here or at http://www.homebrewandbeer.com/ then ask here... you will be answered

Schooner,
I'm not into kegging, the missus thinks i would drink more beer

My intention in starting this thread was to show that there are many ways to do things and others may wish to adopt an idea to suit their purpose.

I once went to Adelaide for a weeks holiday.
Two days after I had been gone the neighbours cat was spotted at the shed window frantically trying to get out.
The son in law had to break in to let it out....
And the cat still comes back..... :x

Home Brewing problems and inventions / remedies

I would be interested to know your home brewing problems and how you fixed them.

The first obstacle I had was how to clean and drain my bottles.
I built a bottling bench ( http://www.users.on.net/~rawlco/bench2.jpg ) that allows the bottles to stand upside down to drain and sterilize (using Neopink ...

Hi Tourist,
It took about 12 days before they went off.
The answer is simple.....
Just mix the right brand of brewing sugar with the cats food and they won't come back...

Exploding Bottles -- what's your story

Hi All,
I wanted to relate my experience both to warn new brewers and for a bit of fun.

I had bottled a Bavarian lager that had stopped bubbling.
I stored it in the sleepout / computer room while waiting for the sampling day.
One morning I could smell this awfull stench coming from there and found ...
