And all I have to drink is 30 bottles of warm, not yet fizzy beer.

I ended up not shaking them. Had a look at the first ones bottled and the drops are almost all gone.

All I need now is somewhere to keep them, and the will power to leave them there for a while!

I'm thinking about cracking one open on Australia day, seems sort of fitting.

Ok, I'll give 'em all a bit of a shake before I put them away

The Beez Knees is a Brewcraft kit. Also bought some real beez knees stubbies just to remind me why I like it ($20 for a 6 pack!). I figure I can re-use the bottles with the labels and put then away till next christmas.

First brew bottled

It's a momentous occasion, I've just finished bottling my first batch of homebrew :D

I used carbonation drops to prime the bottles, do I need to jiggle them around a bit, or do they just dissolve over time?

It also means that I have an empty fermenter, and I have a Beez Knees brew in another ...

And then there were two

I've been brewing for less than a week now, and I have a second fermenter going. I didn't intend it to be that way though...

Took a trip to the Brewcraft store where my girlfriend got me my chrissy present yesterday to get a Beez Knees kit. While I was there I thought I may as well ask about a ...

I get the impression that iodophor is the brewers choice. This is only my first batch, so I've only used what was supplied in the kit.

The kit came with a spray bottle of brewclean, no idea what is in it, doesn't say on the label. And a bottle of brewshield, which contains hydrogen peroxide (3 ...

I seem to remember longnecks being physically bigger (and not just by 10ml!), but then I've been drinking stubbies for as long as I can remember, so I'm probably a bit bigger too...

Just got back from big w with a couple of boxes of bottles, cheapest I've seen them too, $11.32. They also have the coopers kits on special for $59.

They're a bit smaller than I imagined them to be, I don't think it'll be a struggle to polish one or two off in a sitting.

Before I use ...

Since I only started it on boxing day, I might leave it till next weekend to bottle then. Do you think it'll be ready for an Australia Day sampling?

I was only assuming I could get PET bottles in stubby size, but if I have to drink a longneck at a time, then I guess that's a sacrifice I'll have to ...

I got a hydrometer in the kit, I just need something to use it in. The only thing I have that's tall enough is a tall glass, which would hold a fair bit of of my precious, precious beer.

Should I bottle it this weekend (provided the SG is stable), or let it settle for extra week? Or do I go all out ...

I think it's almost done! The 'blub' rate has dropped right down to 1 every couple of minutes or so.

The yeast pack that came with the tin didn't have any special markings on it, just a non-descript foil sachet. I'm assuming it was nothing special.

The temperature in the fermenter is a constant ...

First batch is a brewin'

My lovely girlfriend got me a kit for christmas, which is even more impressive (to me, at least) given that she got it from a homebrew shop and not k-mart!

It's a BrewCraft kit and came with a can of Munich Lager, which is, I'm assuming a reasonably safe first timer beer? I have to admit though, I ...
