Re: LONGNECKS ... Newcastle Area

Done deal.

And when you persuade him to start kegging as you have, tell him to pass them on at the same price he paid.

LONGNECKS ... Newcastle Area

I have 7 dozen Longnecks, some Twist Tops some Crown Seal. Some need a bit of a tub.
I have gone all stubbies in my bottling, and I would like these to go to a good home. Great opportunity for a beginner.
They are in the Newcastle area and they are FREE ... but you have to pick them up.

Re: Morgans products

Parrothead,

Been a fan almost that long myself. I have a 21 year old son who can't get enough of him. He reckons nobody sings drinking songs like JB. Leaves a copied CD at every party he goes to. If I could get him to drink Home Brew he'd be the perfect child.

Re: Mussels in beer (not my recipe) - looks fantastic

Tried this last week with an Amarillo Ale. Quite fond of mussels and this did not disappoint in the least. The Amarillo flavour hung around even in the boiling and was well received by all.

Go try it. I am going to give it another go with a Boonies LCPA.

Cheers, Pete.

Brownie,

I recently did a One Can Coopers Bitter with Half Cup steeped Crystal and made it to 11 litres. That' all, nothing else. I had read on here that it was well bittered, so no extra hops.

I know it isn't Belgiumy or the like, but even though young, this is already quite impressive.

So maybe ...

I can only agree Bolwell. Leave it out. My only basd experience was with Dry Enzyme. Not bottle bombs, but gushers. Had to open and reseal the lot, which is hairy enough, and what was left was over-carbonated.

The males in our family are instructed each Christmas to bring along a Premium beer for every male of drinking age (7 this year). Every hour on the half-hour we drink one. We then score them. In between you can drink what you like. First year we did foreign beers (winner: Asahi Dry). Last year it ...

There is always a can of Coopers Real Ale in my cupboard. Pick it up when on special at Supermarket.

Latest recipe:
1 can Real Ale
1kg Coopers BE2
500g LDME
20g Goldings Steeped
Supplied Yeast
7 Days Ferment
7 Days Rack

Dead cheap. Dead simple. Dead tasty. A genuine Ale IMHO.

So let me get this right:

Steeping with too hot water creates extra proteins, which become suspended, thus creating a haze.

Always boil the steepings of grains, even if temp of water is correct.

I knew you guys would know. You make this Home Brewing seriously enjoyable.
