I put this down last night but the temp in the laundry is about 16c. So far no action. I pitched at 25c. Should i raise the temperature to say 20c and keep it at that or will 16c be good enough for it to ferment?
OG was 1058 too.
cheers

Coopers wheat beer - the premium one
I'm just about to brew a Thomas Coopers wheat beer. I've done the common garden variety one to good effect before, but has anyone got a good recipe for the premium kit?

I added to this link a while back and at first thought it was rubbish... because, well, it was. But after at least 8 months it became drinkable and is actually not that bad... just depends on how long you're prepared to wait.

Yeast starter query
I've been starting my brews with a yeast starter for some time - 2 tbl spoons of malt extract boiled in 1litre water for 20 min. Cooled, and yeast added in bottle.

S23 and this boody ho weather
I put a Cascade Lager down on Sunday with a kilo of LMD and 200g of maltodex, and used Saflager S23.
I pitched at 11C (it was cold then) and though I understand it's slow off the mark, the temp went up to 24C over the past 2 days.
Can anyone ease my fears that I've ruined my brew with such a ...

Setting up a mini microbrewery at home
OK, I know it's a tautology, but what's the guesstimate cost to fit out a shed or similar at home to do a brew from scratch?
Though I'm completely skint, the dream lives that the soon to be built manor could be fitted out.

I was at the Holgate Brewhouse's open day last weekend and was told that a two-can brew on its own is far superior than the bog-standard one can brew with all the adjuncts. Anyway, the consensus was to either use one can at 11litres or two cans at 22+ litres.
