8 ball! LOL

Slow down on the 8 balls! Anyhow I just realized that I screwed that recipe up a bit.

Cut the 30 lov and 60 lov in half. In promash I put a 1 pound in when I should have put .5 pounds in . WOOPS! I bet it would still be good though! But I wonder how it would change if I used maris otter. That ...

Yah!

Well, I really tried to balance out the hop bitterness and the alcohol bite. Those columbus hops are really dramatic I think. I used to use Carapils but have since started using 10 lov, when I can get it. It helps the body in a similar way but adds a bit more in the way of flavor. SO, why not. You ...

This is what I made and I really liked it. I just kept throwing hops in because I buy them in 2 oz packages. The recipe looks funky because ounces converted to kg gives weird numbers. I 'd just round off I guess. But round up, more hops is good!

The Best God Damn Imperial Pale Ever

Recipe ...

My last IPA was delicious. I'd give you my recipe but it is in lbs and ounces. LOL You see! American Brew Barriers! Damn lbs and ounces. Wait a second here. I have promash! I'll post it as soon as I figure out how to convert it. I knew I bought this damn program for a reason.

hops!

I supposedly won some hops on an online brewing show. http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com There are some really great shows to listen to on the archives. For those of you who like hops, you have to find the Vinny calurzo show on hopping. He's from Russian River Brewing Company and has the best, BEST ...

coopers

Oh yah! Those cooper's kits are pretty bad. That dry yeast always kicks off some horrific flavors. But I'm not anti-cluster at all. Hell, they are so damn stable. They last forever. If I was brewing something that I didn't want any hop aroma, that would be my choice. But.....why the hell wouldn't I ...

Program?

My brother,
There is no plan to get with the program. It is a bit of arrogance on the part of our.....I don't know who. Industry? Government? Regardless, people in the US are resistant to anything that involves conforming to another country's ideas. They won't learn languages. They wont' convert ...

Continuing off thread

I used to live in huntington and that was my spot but would take the quick drive to San O and Trestles alot. BUT, now that I have a real job and the Gods seem to hate me, I am pretty much stuck to Huntington/Newport.

Oh yah! On my longboards. My shortboard is a 9'0" and my longest is a 10'0". But ...

Carafa

I've used carafa in a brown ale to replace roasted barley since my shop was out. I really liked the flavor that it gave off. I've since cut my roasted barley down by half and replaced it with a bit of carafa. It really adds a nice complexity. =D

Australian Brewing?

What's up brothers and sisters?
I was at my homebrew shop today in Long Beach California and I saw some hops called Pride of Ringwood from Australia (or so it said). I asked myself, "What cool styles of beer they have come up with in Australia? Do they have their own yeast strains? WHAT THE F IS ...
