Re: Beer Poetry

There once was a man
Who found a beercan
He pulled the tab at the top
Put the can to his lip
And took a really deep sip
It was a fair cop
As the bubbles arose
and went up his nose

Re: What are you brewing?

It's been a while since I posted on here, but let's give it a shot.

I rarely brew lagers, but have decided to take on the challenge.

Put this one down a week ago today. Grew up a 2½ litre starter of WY2124, saved about 80% of it, and grew up another 2½ litres with the other 20%. Reckon I have ...

Re: Beer Poetry

Golf

I was told by a reliable source
On a nearby golf course
Hit it straight and long
And you won't go wrong
You'll be a winner
That means a grinner
Score every hole for par
And you'll be a star
And when the clubhouse gets near
You can smell that beer
After the last putt you sink
You will have ...

Re: What are you brewing?

Put this one down last Tuesday. Guess it's an AIPA. It's in honour of me joining this forum exactly 10 years ago on the day.

Re: Not a good beer to be had ...

My golf club burnt down about 18 months ago. The rebuilt new clubhouse is scheduled for completion by the end of June this year.
I'm on good terms with the bar manager (he loves my homebrew), and I'm trying to do my best to get some decent beers on tap.
However, sadly, the usual thing is "we're tied ...

Re: What are you drinking now?

No pics, as uploading on here is not as easy as on some other forums (not brewing) I frequent.

Just started to drink my latest attempt at a Düsseldorf Altbier. Crystal clear and clean. Next attempt I will drop the Carafa Special II down to only 20 gr, plenty of colour as it is. Beautifully malty ...

Re: What are you brewing?

Almost 3 months since I last brewed, so it was time to get into the garage and get back into it.

Odd ball brew, made up the recipe on the fly with what I had on hand. Probably closest to an American Wheat of sorts. It'll be beer, and it'll drink well, so who cares about styles?

2000 gr dark wheat ...

Re: Ruby Tuesday clone check

How did this turn out?

350 Carared + 250 Caramunich totals 600 Cara malts. That seems high to me, and will probably result in a somewhat sweetish beer.
Is that what you were after? Not much IBU to cut that back either at 25 IBU.

Re: What are you brewing?

Been a while since I posted anything here.
I'm still brewing, and making the usual stuff ups.
Managed to mill my grain into the usual bucket, but forgot to take the lid off the bucket. It's not a lot of fun trying to recover 5.6 kg milled grain spilled everywhere.
Anyway, this is how it turned out ...

I has some of that Sierra Nevada Hoptimum recently, and love it. Great beer.
