Re: James Squire Pepperberry Winter Ale

Finally got my hands on some....not bad! I probably couldnt drink it all night, but certainly a nice winter beer! I think the qty of pepperberry is near perfect - any more & it would be like drinking kava!!

You may just have a leak somewhere & the air is getting out through that instead. Is it showing any other signs?

FROTH!!!!!

I just started a new brew with Thomas Coopers Brewmaster Wheat Kit, Coopers Wheat Malt Extract & approx 15gm of Tettnang hops 15 mins. Anyhow, I put the hops with the 2L of water into the fermenter then added both cans & started filling with water. The more water than I put in (stirring every 4 ...

OK, so im gonna put the lack of replies down as havent tasted it so ill explain my thoughts on it & hopefully that may give me a few recipe suggestions instead? Basically, it tastes like a Corona with the lemon already in it. I guess I could always search for a Corona recipe & add lemon juice ...

JS Waterfront Wheat

Dropped into the JS brewhouse at docklands before the footy on Sunday and had a pint of the Waterfront Wheat (as well as a couple of others!) Anyhow, for those that have tried it, does anyone have a recipe? I reckon it would be an awesome summer beer so I wanna get one going to I can test out the ...

I move them inside so they would be around 20 deg but at night when the heater is off the temp would drop on these colder nights. I use a heater in the fermenter to keep that at 20 deg, how can I keep them warm enough in the bottles for a few weeks?

Bottling & Priming questions

Ok, 1st up im currently brewing brew #3 & I wanna try & get it better than brew #1! Yeah yeah, I realise brew #1 isnt great for most but the taste wasnt too bad but it was flat as a tack! Anyhow, with brew #1 I used Sucrose for priming & I gave the bottles a shake but found after 2 weeks the sugar ...

Tooheys Extra Dry Platinum - Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting much, but this was beyond any beer I have ever tasted. Each sip (four sips total) was like putting your tongue on a 9V battery. Not exactly painful, but not pleasant. Had to piss in my own mouth to get the taste out.

Agreed ...

1st Brew - what have I done???

First up, Hi all, happy to join the forum & even happier to be a home brewer! :)

I just did my first brew and found I made a mistake. I am brewing the Coopers International Pale Ale and while following the instructions I missed 1. I filled the fermenter to 20L but didnt notice the next point saying ...
