Re: honey dreams
Dreams were just very vivid - like being in a cinema for a 6-hour epic!

Re: Can't seem to get it right.
My approach has always been proactive rather than reactive, Burt. I've never seen or tasted any evidence of beerstone on any of my beer equipment or in any of my beers (with one possible exception = see below).
That being said, if you've got evidence of beerstone, something more than hot water ...

honey dreams
After mixing honey (a few hundred MLs) with a homebrew wort, then after having a few at night, has anyone found it gives them particularly strange / vivid dreams??

Re: breeding yeast strains
Great help, Bum - only 5 generations? It probably doesn't really sound like it's worth it, but I might give it a go at least once.

breeding yeast strains
Greetings everyone
Here's a question I'd love to hear feedback on: has anyone used the yeast cake of one brew to kick start the next one? Furthermore, has anyone done this over a series of brews to develop the yeast strain? Did it get better along the way?
I know this is roughly what Guiness do ...

Re: Can't seem to get it right.
Heals, don't give up. The solution could be simpler than you think.
I've been making homebrew for 17 years; two and a half years ago, I got into kegging. I have four full kegs, I drink one per week, and I fill and drink them on a neat 3 - 4 week cycle. I've never had a problem with any of them ...

Re: Storing
There are many articles on storing and cellaring beer and, when compared with wine, the science seems to be very similar.
Stable temperature (humidity won't really matter, neither will light if the beer's kegged). Before storing, make sure the keg is properly burped and gassed to flush out the ...

Re: Pressure building up over time
Was the beer thoroughly brewed? And how old is your fermenter?
After many years of trouble-free brewing, I had a problem a few years ago with exploding bottles. This had never happened before or since (in my 17 years' brewing), and initially I didn't know what was causing the problem. I realised my ...

apple cider
Greetings everyone
I've been brewing beer for 17 years and I've never tried making a cider.
Can someone recommend a kit for me that produces something crisp and dry? Any suggestions welcome.
