MHB's kit is good value for money. It's cheaper than what BOC or Reece sell them for, too. No affiliation.
IIRC, yeast only require about 10ppm for their cell wall growth. 8ppm is not ideal, but if that's what you can get, it's better than a kick in the teeth.

US05 doesn't require a starter. Just rehydrate the yeast in cooled boiled water and pitch.

Just punch a hole through the seal on the door ... on the same side as the hinges.
You're better off not drilling holes in your fridge ... especially if its a new kegerator.
If you hit gas having to replace the fridge is gonna be the least of your worries.
