Re: Found a Keg. It is useful. (With Photos)

Re: Lagering/CCing in the keg
I CC my lagers in the keg. Very simple to do.
I brew
I rack and leave again for another week or so to help the brew clear.
I rack again into a clean keg and stick in the fridge and again leave for as long as possible, usually a minimum of at least 2 months.

Re: Newbie racking Question
Personally I think your playing to much into it. This is how I do it.
Brew in the primary till decent FG is achieved. Then rack. The main reason I rack is to reduce the amount of sedement in the beer. I dont even check the gravity at this stage. If it brew a bit more, then so be it. I dont worry ...

Re: Leaking Keg
Had a good look at the keg last night, and it seems to have actually leaked from the outlet post. So I took it out and discovered the o-ring around the top pf the long dipstick was stuffed. So its of today to get another o-ring from the brew shop and replace it.

Leaking Keg
Hello.
Just recently discovered my keg, which is a reco keg has a slight leak coming from it. This is a bit strange, as I have put one brew through it and it did not leak at all for a good month under pressure.
After drinking the contents i did the normal, cleaned the keg with keg cleaner ...

Re: Woolworths/Coles beer products
I think that the better of Coles/Wollies is the Farmland brand. You need to remember one thing though. A lot of people will tell you a lot ofthings to do, however, you have to drink it. So try it, brew what you like, for yourself. I am just finishing Farmland Lager, (from Coles) brewed with a tin ...

Re: Quantity of Beer in Kegs
I am a new keg system owner, and going to get 3 or 4 kegs myself. Tow does for now, but I already have brews backing up, and want to put them into kegs to mature a bit before carbonation. Cubes are a good idea but it means a bit more works racking to the keg. May as well rack straight from the ...

Re: Coopers European Lager
Thing I like about this Euro Lager kit is its simple to make different tasting and experimental brews with it as a base. Great for making up unusual Euro lager flavours.
I am going to put this down today:-
Coopers Euro Lager
1kg Brewcraft Czech Pilsener no#62 brew enchancer.
500gms of wheat malt ...

Doesn't work for the take away people. So I cant see that happening! Home cooking, is it bad for you??? Naaaaa. Don;t think that would wash.
Yes they would loose out paying all that tax to the government, which is good, as we apy way to much tax in this country anyway.
Least I pay very little tax ...

Re: corporate pee
Why are homebrewers always trying to convert the masses?
And what happens when they are all converted?
Do we then re-discover extra light lagers and then start converting the masses once more?
Hopefully the big brewers will then go bust, or actually brew something worthy of being called ...

Re: corporate pee
Well done warra.
Yes it is a slow process, but in ten years from now I hope to see the big breweries suffering in their jocks from lack of sales because people have woken up to decent beers like the Europeans do.
After all, we seem to be ten years behind in everything in this country.

Now come on. You can't compare Stella with Forsters. Your kidding right?? :) I can see where peolpe in the UK don't think much of Stella. But when you look at the big corporate cats p**s we get here Stella is a cut above any of them. I think its just the standard in this country for mass produced ...

Yes its just wrong, and they should not be able to do that. I see despite complaints to the ACCC that they have done nothing about it. Don't you just love our government!

Great setup, thats for sure. Do you have any issues with the beer flow from the taps at that distance from the fridge??
Love the 'barney' shot as well. Thats one to be framed and put up behind the bar!

Re: Stella Artios
Have to agree the Stella brewed here is rubbish compared to the imported stuff. And they have the nerv to charge the same price for both if you check around.
I hope CUB lost the license for brewing Stella. I love the stuff, its a good beer, but the Aussie clone is rubbish. I have bought one of ...
