Re: Steinlager
From what I understand of Steinlager it's all Green Bullet hops. I could be wrong? I'll be attempting a beer similar to it in the future, was just going to go pils with some wheat and all Green Bullet.
Would be interested to hear how you go.

They should do. It's at 1st Choice definitely. If not, Dan usually has Hobgoblin and Fiddlers Elbow. Both great beers from Wychwood.
Just get the bottle images in your head, same from the palate thread. It's the easiest way to spot them.

Gib, out of curiosity - have you done an ale without crystal? Say something like 70% Ale, 20% Munich, 10% Wheat.

For those in Brisbane, keep an eye on these guys http://www.peopleinplastic.com.au/ and their specials page.
I have 6 of their 20lt cubes, all were $4.40 each.

Re: Lager yeast starters???
Hey Gib probably a bit late for you, but I just had two 830 starters stepped from 50ml, 500ml to 3.5L going at room temp and chilled then pitched cold. edit: just thought i'd add, I poured off all starter liquid and pitched the slurry.

Chris White of White Labs recommends not overpitching as you will not get the required growth the yeast requires to reach the desired results. You need the right amount of yeast cells to get the right amount of growth.

I grabbed 5 x 100gms of various hops. I typically buy from Ross, but it's a good deal and couldn't resist!
Paid $8.75 postage I think, couriered to Bris in 2 days.
