I made this one last winter and it was pretty good, recipe from my local HBS.

Coopers tradional draught
Munton light powdered malt 1kg
Cascade 25g + Chinook 15g (half taste + half aroma)
Safale US 56

Came out pretty hoppy but very nice. I am about to make another but will cut the ...

Have just bottled my second fresh wort brew, an APA and looking to do another.

I am thinking of the ESB pilsner as it comes highly recomended but unfortunately my brew room is only 15C. I would appreciate hearing about anyones experiences or comments. Do these kits benefit from adding extra hops ...

I would agree with pharmaboy,

Did a clone using cascade & chinook with US-56 and it turned out great. A very hoppy version

Do a search on US-56 for some other ideas. I would give you a link but haven't mastered that yet

Oliver was talking of doing one last year, have you had a chance to do one ...

The wort kit comes from NNL brewing supplies. I picked one up yesterday and it is currently brewing in the shed at 16c. I had a choice of yeasts so opted for the S23.

Web: nnlbeersupplies.com.au

As mentioned above, the process is easier than K&K with little creative input, although I did ...

I was told it is made by Potters Brewery in the hunter valley for a small brew
pub on the south coast. The HBS is in Newcastle but I will get some more info when next in there. The blokes in the HBS had made up the first offering of a different style and were impressed so have put the next ...

I am also looking at a fresh wort kit for my next brew. My local HBS has a new Bohemian lager which sounds interesting when it gets a bit colder in the shed.
Any comments on the brands and styles would be appreciated

In reference to another thread, would this be extract brewing and using some extra ...

Just happened to find a bottle of a pilsner brewed back in july last year using S23. Tasted great IMO. I remember this brew as being very nice over the summer. Notes show racked for 2 weeks at 13C to 15C then bottled and stored in the fridge for a month. No sulphur taste in the bottle today :)
I ...

I have done that with the second one so hopefully it will condition a bit quicker. I think the first one will stay in the cellar for a couple of months before trying again. I wasn't thinking of lagers until next winter as its warming up here but was encouraged by your comments on another ...

Oliver, AC, Grab

Tried 2 bottles, 1st on 28/8 2nd on 17/9

First tasted 11 days after "lagering", 2nd 3 weeks later, thought there should be more activity than this.

I may be pushing it a bit, just keen to try as its my first ...

grabman, sorry, missed your reply

The idea was to "lager" for a month then let carbonate.

Was this not good

My second lager I left for ten days before putting in fridge. Has just come out so am leaving for a few weeks before tasting.

Thanks for the quick reply Dogger

There is sediment in the bottle. Looks less than before but this was my first try at racking. Bottles have some gas, but in the glass has no head and few bubbles rising from bottom. I was concerned I had overprimed as I added 180g sugar to 19L :?

I didn't finish ...

G'day guys
I have a problem with this my first lager.

Made as per earlier post to this thread. Bottled, left 3 days then into fridge for 4 weeks. Tried 10 days later, a bit flat. Moved to warmer spot, left for 3 weeks, tried again, still flat.

I would appreciate suggestions on what to do next ...

Thanks for the tip. Haven't used grain before so is a good excuse to learn.
Will do some research on the forum and give it a go.

As the general opinion on the freebie is brew it will give it a go. Have some yeast not used with kits, morgans ale or thomas coopers. Also willamette and cascade ...

Malt Shovel Deep Roast Ale

Picked up 2 cans on special and would appreciate suggestions on how best to use them.

Also was given a Coopers white label Australian Lager, nearly 3 years out of date. :? Toss or brew :?:

Cant see why not. My mate has a family that drinks more coke than he can drink beer  So he has a constant supply of bottles. His wife just rinses them and drains them till completely dry then stores them. Does not sanitize before filling and does not have any problems.
5 or 6 ...

Back to the topic guys

Try 1.25L Coke bottles. I have a friend who uses them exclusively.
Quick rinse and dry, store upside down in plastic bags till needed, no sanitiser ( the coke does a good job ).
Great to take to parties as you just throw the empties.
I have been using a few in each batch I ...
