Ive just started too and whilst my 1st brew was drinkable my 2nd is looking REAL good.... A Coopers Draught....

Almost stopped at the pub for a 6 pack on the way home out of habit tonight till I remembered I had my own brew... :idea:

Thought Id try a sample of my 1st 2 brews tonight...
1st was a stock coopers lager....3 weeks in the bottle... Good head but doesnt last ...

The dilemma

2nd brew is ready to bottle but.....not enough bottles. :shock: .. The new brewers nightmare!! bah...

Rang 2 recycling joints .. One wanted a 'donation' and it was a fair drive and the other left me on hold for ages.. Local council wasn't interested in helping my cause either..

Do they still sell SWAN ??

About 15 odd years ago a during a Victorian beer strike the only thing we could get was SWAN in a black can......We thought it was truly awwwwwwful........ but being in our early twenties we drank it anyway...

Well the bubbling on my 1st brew seems to have finished..Temp has been around 20-22 mostly as far as I can tell.
I took an SG reading as its now been just over 3 days and it read 1020. Bit more fermenting to go I suspect....A quick sip confirmed it was 'alcaholic'.. but not particularly pleasant yet ...

Yep 1st brew so Im a complete beginner...Still bubbling along every 5-10 secs after 1 1/2 days...... I followed the instructions to the letter and watched the video twice....

Strangely enough my wife thinks Ive lost the plot and is now calling the fermentor 'The other woman!' ...... :P ...

Coopers kits are currently on sale at KMART for $58 bucks !

I dont know if its Australia wide but I thought it was a good price and picked one up last night...

My 1st brew is currently bubbling away nicely at 22deg. :D

Lets hope it works...
