Re: Storing open hops.
I leave them in the bag they come in and seal the bag back up by folding the air out and getting a hot iron ,hold the iron on the bag for 2-3 sec.use a cutting board so you don't burn the bench
PS don't let the wife catch you!
This all so works well for the little foil seed bags.

Larch
Good Idea about the lager brewing with the cool temps.
Got hot box up and running, at least I have some control over the temps for once, I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Will post some pics when I get a dig camera.
Made brew up , checked it out today airlock was nearly dry, bubbling ...

2 kit brews
What do you guys think of 2 hopped kits in one brew?? and adding some hops.
I want to try 2 coopers lager cans, and 5g saaz boil for 15min then 5g at flame out and rest for 5min.
Too much hops??
Or and I better off using 1 can coopers and one can unhopped.
Cheers

Stockings
I used a kitchen strainer last brew but,I can see hops floating in some of the bottles when I move them, so will need some careful pouring.
Next brew I'm going to use stockings whats the best colour to use?
Don't want dye and stuff coming out of them.

I dont know that much about steeping the grains but I hope you steeped the 100g roasted black malt grain in hot water for 20min then strained then bring to the boil.
If boiled for 20 min just grains, I think it can bring out off flavors.
Glad your brews tasty ,hops will make it even better and its ...
