Re: Yeast Question

Got an order from Ross in December. All I can say was the whole transaction was handled in a professional and timely manner and everything arrived in pristine condition and exactly as described on his website.

He'll definately be getting most of my orders in future.

Re: Best way to take beer on a plane?

I have flown from Perth to Sydney with an esky as my carry-on luggage, full of wine bottles. Wine bought at the wineries around Margaret River. That was with Qantas.

I see no reason why you could not fill an esky with beer and do the same. As long as it is a size to fit in the overhead section.

Crown Seal Longnecks For Sale

I have just started kegging, and thus have little need for bottles clogging up the garage.

I have about 150 longnecks for sale. Pickaxe ones, CUB ones, all very good condition.

They are all THOROUGHLY cleaned, sterilised and stored in photocopy boxes with a lid. Each box holds 9 longnecks.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the Cheapies?

Hey guys new to brewing, just wondering if anyone has tried the super market brand home brews. They always seem to be on special and people seem to be buying them too. Maybe with some hops added and some decent sugar and malt one could make a decent brew.

Who wants to take one for the team? :D ...

Re: priming temp????

As Timmy says your beers should be fine.

For the carbonation, try to give them a week or two at room temperatures for the yeasties to do their work on the priming sugars.

But after that time, any temp will be OK.

I only ever prime with Dextrose as I feel that white sugar does affect the flavour. 8)

Thats just personal preference though.

What is everyone's thought's on "Pink Neo"(Chlorinated Trisodium Phosphate)??? This is what I use.

Seems to do a good job??? No problems so far.
I alternate between Iodophor and Neo Pink and am very happy with results.

The reason I alternate is so ...

Re: Redback - recipe help and directions please

Hi scblack,

thanks for the recipe - looks better than the one I dug up!

Just a few questions for you all:-
1/ is there better quality ingredients that could be used for this recipe? (given the sticky 'simple things that make your home brew better' suggests not using brew enhancers and dextrose ...

Re: About to put this down, any thoughts or criticisms

Thanks Pixelboy, on another note does anyone know if maltodextrin is at all fermentable, I've been led to believe it is not but wanted to check with you pro's, I don't really want to put in 400g if it's going to make it too strong, but I do want to get a good head (who doesn't  ). Also is it ...

so all i know is that it would be sweet, with some roasted notes and only mildly hoppy, and thats just a guess.
any thoughts? I don't reckon it will be sweet at all!

I have done a two-can stout, with Coopers Stout kit and Tooheys Dark Ale kit. The extra hops from the second kit, rather than just ...
