I've have been handed crownies to drink lately

I don't know what I've done to dis-please the gods but its been a hella bad punishment!

I was out in sydney the other night (and given that it is yuppie ville) there were a crap load of people drinking crownies.

I don't get it - and the other thing ...

I used 12g of supa alpha hops in an attempt to make a Corona last year (with Morgan's Canadian Light) - tasted pretty good, although the brew was a little gassy.

All my beers in my first brewing year were only basic kit + dextrose (that was in the 90s as a poor student). Wish I'd had the variety you brewed.

Amazingly all of the "brewers" who've given feedback on the Cascade website have very positive things to say.

Especially like this one: "Just to let you know I cracked open a bottle of the Spicy Ghost over the weekend. It has only been in ...

Has anyone made the Coopers Bitter Recipe on the Coopers website (with molasses) - just wondering if it's a better brew than just using the kit + BE1/BE2.

Extra Smooth Bitter - 22 litres

Coopers Bitter was developed all those years ago with the English style of Bitter in mind. The addition of ...

I've tried both the Spicy Ghost and Golden Harvest brews.

The Spicy Ghost tasted sour for the first few months, but matured after that, and tasted pretty good. By the time I started to like the beer, I was fast running out (only 3 left).

I bottled the Golden Harvest 2 months ago - still has a ...

Todays news, a lawyer who has decided he can cash in on the LN offer (and maybe even assist them) is sueing Coopers because he claims they underpaid him during a share buyback in 2003. Rather than asking for monetary compensation, he just wants his shares back. Typical money grubber who just ...

I tried the Canadian Blonde last year with the Coopers Brew Enchancer 2 also, but it was extremely gassy, it was a 7 or 8 day brew (mid 20 deg), so I assumed I bottled it too early.

This year I tried to replicate a Corona, and used the Morgans Canadian Light (1kg dry body blend, 500g dextrose ...

I'm going on holidays for 2.5 weeks over the back end of this month, am going to do that exact beer over that period, and gamble with it fermenting slowly while I'm not around in the cold of August. It's actually the Brewmaster Pilsener - I think I've seen the regular Coopers Pilsener on the net ...

Hi Antsvb

Thanks for the info on the Ultra Blend - I used to be a dextrose only brewer (legacy of my penniless Uni days), so I'm not overly familiar with what sugars work well for certain brews.

Will let you know how my Kilkenny tastes!

Brewiser Liquid Brewing Sugar $3.14 at Big W

That's a saving of about $1.50 (so roughly 1/3 off). Bought from Big W in Nambour (Sunshine Coast) today.

I've never used it before - has anyone had a bad experience with it?

I tried a similar recipe to Oliver (from the Morgan's pamphlett)

1 can Morgan's Royal Oak Amber Ale
1 kg Dry Ultra Blend (don't know what it contains)
150g Dextrose
1 bag Fuggles finishing hops

I bottled it a month ago, will probably give it another week or two before I taste it. Was just warm ...
