I just put a brew on yesterday and I used a yeast starter from the dregs of 6 Sparkling Ale stubbies.

can you create a starter using only one stubbie for a 21L mix?

obviously the more yeast the better...... but will one stubbie provide enough yeast after the ...

My other thought was to buy a pot and install an element - not sure how hard that would be though, and sealing back up the pot. Or another idea was a beer keg, considering they are ...

Seeking Urn 30 litre

Hey guys,

im in search of a stainless steel urn ~30 litre or similar, looked online - trading post, ebay but cant find one. I dont want to buy a new one either for ~ $300. looking for something for sub $80 any suggestions

1 U.S. Quart (approx 1 litre) of 3% hydrogen peroxide.
1/4 cup (approx 45ml) baking soda.
1 teaspoon (approx 5ml) liquid soap.

Flosso sounds like a good method of cleaning but im not so sure about the soap. Im sure it would help clean the fermenter but and detergent/soap will kill the head of ...

Tony, sounds like a great idea with the ply. I was thikning perhaps of making a few boxes but now i definately will. I think Ill use the ply boxes for the stubbies and the milkcrates for the longnecks.

I want to know what the best container to store beer bottles in is, and what you guys do.

Hey guys, a first post about a first beer....

Well it came in the box, with the coopers kit so i made it.

1.7kg can Coopers Lager
1kg Dextrose

It was brewed within the suggested temps of about 18-25degrees but had a reasonably cidery taste, kinda cross champagne.
