Craftbrewer website
Anyone having issues with the craft brewer website? I can't get it to load, and also the Aussiehomebrewer forum website won't load up either. Might be just my computer, any others with this issue?

Re: Fizzy brew
Thanks for the responses guys. Looking over brewing notes realising that have become a bit slack. No SG or FG taken as I gave it away after doing a heap of pale ales that were ticking over nicely. Also did not keep real goo dnotes. REcipe was Sharles (spp) European Lager Kit, 500 LDME, 500 Malto ...

Re: Fizzy brew
I just brewed a lager, fermented for 2.5 weeks at 10 c and then lagered in bottles at 4 c for a month. Opened one tonight and just about lost all the beer out with a big gush. Any thoughts welcome, primed with 2 drops, not bad tasting, no infection that i can tell.

Re: What are you brewing?
Well trying my first brew living in FNQ at Weipa. Have had this in the barrel for 2 weeks in the spare room with the aircon on full-time (missus not happy) sitting at about 26 C (yes too hot and have a fridge mate and new seals for my beer fridge to fit this weekend) and will be interested to see if ...

Re: Any Good Bars in Cairns
Gudday there
Residing in Cairns can be a bit interesting regarding bars. There are a heap of spots along the Esplanade where you can get a beer and watch the backpackers flock past. Quite a good pastime. Some of the bars along th eespy serve a decent beer, mostly the standard though. outback JAcks ...

Re: Dry v. Liquid Malt Extract
Hi all,
Just a quick query, maybe a stupid question. On this DME v LME thing. Why do some recipes have some of both, eg. 1kg Liquid ME and say 1.5kg dry ME? What is the story with using bits of both? Doesn't it just do the same thing? Doesn't mixing the 2 forms mean you have to muck around with the ...

Opened a couple of weeks ago, although official opening not until October 1. Went last Friday afetr work to sample some of the product. I was very excited and must say a ...

Cairns Long Necks
Hi Guys,
Thought I'd throw this out to see if, on the off chance, there is anyone else on here from Cairns who may have or soon have some non twist top long necks to get rid of. Checking the tip shop from time to time with some success but starting to run short. Can pick up etc and will provide ...

Re: Stout Question
Advice much appreciated guys. I will let it go until the weekend and then check it out. In a situation like this, can you add a new yeast to kick things on? I don't really want to do this (infection etc) but just wondered.

Hi guys,
I'm early on in my skill development and as a result trying to read and learn as much as possible. Up to tryign all extract brewing with Spec grains (haven't done one yet but have recipes formulate detc). One of my queries was around whether to use DME or LME. I came across Basicbrewing.com ...

Re: How do I crack the grains
Do you have a coffee grinder? It works for small batches....big batch takes a while.
Hi Boonie,
Question from the uninitiated. Does the coffee grinder make it too fine? I have a manual one at home and was wondering about using it for first SG addition to extract recipe. Thought it would turn it ...

Re: climate control
Thanks guys, does it bugger the fridge for future use? Like do you drill a hole in the fridge for the probe etc. I'm thinking of a day in the very distant future, after I am gone and my sons no longer wish to brew their own beer, or my wife secconds the fridge for food use.

Re: climate control
A question from an ignoramus. This fridge mate thing, my understanding is if I have a working normal fridge, and connect one of these things to it, I can then have the fridge on but set the temp to be around what we need for a good constant brewing temp. Is this correct?

Re: Microbrewery - Question
My understanding of these joints is you have to keep the canned or bottled product cool once you bring it home. If have beer fridge not an issue but maybe a problem. A mate tried to dry store them at room temp and they tasted like shite after a week or so. Big disadvantage me thinks and defeats the ...

Re: Moving Fermenter During Fermentation
Hey guys,
Just reading the advice to remove airlock when moving fermenter to avoid sucking in crappy water from airlock, makes sense. What about when decanting some off for HG readings during fermentation? Do you guys think take airlock out then too? Or does this just increase risk of infection more ...
