Re: Labels
Hombrewtalk.com and it works. The only thing you have to note is paper labels don't last in an esky in ice but thats just common sense. For the fridge they work fine.

Re: Labels
Just a tip. When applying them use a pastry brush, drip it in a bowl of milk (YES milk!) and apply. They will dry and hold just like glue does but when you rinse it under water they come straight off making it easier

All true Earle but my beers on tap here and my smoked salmon pizza are the stuff of legend. Just need a mate to join up and troll saying so in his first post.
Always suss of beers that need a gimmick to make them sell.

yup they would learn about vulnerability and that others at times use their cars as weapons to intimidate and sometimes hurt and kill. Being surrounded by steel seems to make some think that there is no consequences for pushing and squeezing others out.

Yeah a bit different from being on the pushi full time but after 10+ years as a bicycle courier in the Melbourne CBD some of the bike skills come naturally it seems. Expect the worst and drive defensively.

Re: temp to high?
I got them from bunnings but i believe they are a discontinued item :( Some have had luck at Big W and target over the years with similar items. Try your big green shed though for maybe a similar product as they work a treat. The big blue cooler slabs were from there too. Plenty of surface area with ...

Re: temp to high?
Looks like a good ferment anyway. Coopers yeasts are a 'bit' more tolerant than most as they expect people to ferment warm as they instruct. Better still to keep it on the cool side though. Is that the new coopers kit fermenter? Lid on or off? If off better to leave it on next time and reduce the ...

Re: temp to high?
Buy a big cooler bag like this.
Sit your fermenter in it and fill it with a few ice bricks or frozen coke bottles. Throw a towel over it and you will be sweet! Was 40 here in melb and I kept my brew at a steady 18 degrees even on the hottest day.

This is one pic of my setup. A 40L urn(control box operated for temp) as the HLT gravity fed into a 45L esky with a stainless braid in a circle connected to a brass T and out thru a ball valve. Drained into a 30L cub. The ...

Re: Little creature Big Dipper Clone
Whilst I found the actual beer on tap a little bit underwhelming this doesn't look too bad.
personal prefference is for the IBU's to be up there a bit more especially with nearly half a kg of crystal. You can mash a bit higher to keep a bit more body seeing you are putting in the dex. Not a fan of ...

Re: Show us your gear!
And if you decide down the track you want to go 3V you can use the urn for a HLT.
The only downside I have come across with the urn so far is the time that it takes to heat the water to strike temp, then to boiling after the mash. It's probably in the order of 40 mins to an hour for each. But on ...
