Also, has anyone used coffee before in a dark ale or stout? Im going to try it anyway, but just want to get a heads-up on the hops i should use, malt extract ...

Any Ideas for a Coopers Old Dark Ale?
Hey guys,
my brother just gave me all his homebrew stuff ( I dont know why!) and I got a very old can of Coopers Classic Old Dark Ale. Its just gone out of date, but im gonna try it anyway........why not!
Would adding any dry light malt be ok, or should i just stick to the brew enhancer for this ...

Do I need Hops at all?
I have never used hops, in any of my 9 brews.......still a rookie.
I find that my brews have been great ( some of them anyway ) without any hops, and when I drink a highly commercial beer these days, they dont taste too good at all. And I think the Hops is the difference.

Simo,
I havent had a lager complete fermentation in under 13 days. But my temps have been lower. But still, I think you should give it a few more days.
As for cold conditioning, I have had a batch of Coopers pilseners cold conditioning for 4 weeks, and they have just come good..... they have been ...

I think you will find that the lagers take longer to condition in the bottles.
whereas ales only take a few weeks.
And i have heard that the plastic bottles do leak out air very slowly ( apparently over 6 months will be too long in plastic )
So I have been using the PET bottles for ales, and glass ...
