No one knows, its the same as brewcraft packs, they dont tell you for the reason that if they did then you wouldnt buy them

This is from the Better Brewer's Resource Book (1997) by Mike Rodgers-Wilson. (It came with my starter kit way back)

Did you bash up the herbs with a pestle & mortar or boil them whole?

I like using up to 250g chocolate grain in my stouts.
Morgan's Dockside & Munton's are my favorite kits.

Cheers,

You could also try using some dry enzyme which will bump up the alc % but will really thin out the beer.

I have finally stopped the leaking from the tap....I didn't have it turned in tight enough  . I stopped being so girly and gave it a really good turn (hope I didn't do anything to the thread!).

I turned my tap too tight a few months ago and cracked the thread!
That rooted my ...

Do you force carbonate or naturally condition?
I'm guessing you have a pluto gun?
I've heard some systems 'spit' before pouring properly and is due to the position of the tap on the door. (Can't remember if it was too high or too low!)

I am thinking of putting the chilli's in primary so there is no evidence present when my mother in law drinks it :D :D :D
I will let you know if it had the desired effect

Chillies in the primary makes the beer taste like capsicum! That was my mistake.
The flavour mellows out over time though ...

Thanks for all the replies.
I'm going to have a go at a few of the methods.
I can soak the bottles for a week while the brew is fermenting.
Sounds like the easiest, plus I'll have a go at the Alkaline salts too.

One of the processes at my work involves sticking yellow dots on packaging, so I'll ...

After capping a brew i was inverting the bottles to mix the priming sugar.
One bottle must've had a crack in it as when I tipped it upside down the whole top half of the longneck just fell off! Beer everywhere!
I haven't seen that happen since so I'm putting it down to a weak bottle.

Is that Bicarb Soda?

I found the VB & Carlton Draught bottle labels very stubborn even after 45 mins in very hot water, as melbourne man said.
The glue came off with a dolly scrubber no problems.
The new Coopers longnecks were a breeze.

Removing Labels

What is the best way to remove labels?
What methods do you guys & girls use?
Why bother & waste time? I'd prefer my bottles looking sparkling without the grotty labels on them.

Cheers,
Shagger.

However the other night while checking the FG on my lager I had the hydrometer in one hand, the tap in the other and tried to turn off the tap as the hydrometer tube thing was full. Well the bloody tap was tight, it spun around and lost about a half liter of beer all over the floor and down the ...

yeah, the only problem with natural carbonation is that it might have a bit too much sediment and possibly block the line.

Racking will reduce the sediment.

Have any keggers had a blocked line from sediment?
I would've thought the pouring pressure would be enough to force out any possible ...

Hi AC,
Thanks for that.
I degassed the keg over a day and found that I only needed the regulator set so I could just hear some gas running - about 2 psi.
We had no trouble emptying the keg.
Had it set up at a party where the choice was my keg (Morgan's Blue Mountain) or Crown Lager. :P
There were ...

Thanks Matty,
I'll try that. It does look like it's pouring too quick now that you mention it.
My set-up is a 23lt party keg so no beer line (tap connected to keg).

Cheers,

Hi All,
Great info for a newbie to kegs.
I force carbonated my first keg on the weekend.
Set the regulator at 25 psi for 2.7 ltrs of Co2 for beer at 15 deg.
It took about 5 mins for the beer to stop absorbing the gas and I noticed a tiny amount of beer in the gas line. Is this normal?
Chilled the ...

Hi Yellow,
You'll love the ginger beer.
Mine has a real earthy ginger flavour with a great bite in the aftertaste!
Very refreshing.
