Quick Double

Postby wrighty » Thursday Sep 23, 2010 11:31 am

Hi all,

Not posted or brewed for some time now due to work (FIFO) so have no HB in stock. :(
Picked up a couple of Coopers draught cans to use as base malts along with 1kg LDME
and leftovers in stock of 500g Caraaroma and 1kg pale wheat.Plan is to do a small mash
with grains into kettle 2 tins, LDME and do a full boil so i can scrub out the hop influence
of the tins to let my own additions shine. Hops in stock are POR ,Amarillo,Chinook,Cascade and Palisade.
Plan to use POR as bittering and palisade with a late add of amarillo.
Off to the shed to get underway and see how much i can boil in the keggle without the dreaded boilover.

Wrighty.
Im not an alchoholic i dont go to the meetings !

Welcome back, Wrighty. I hate when there's no beer on tap and one has to succumb to purchasing commercial. No satisfaction in drinking something made in bulk.

Must be a day for brewing! Just kegged one of my house brews, tentatively and imaginatively titled "Bullfrog Golden Ale" and have water coming to strike temp for a Dr S Golden Ale. Haven't brewed his recipe before and I'm really interested to see how the two compare side-by-side.

You are buying the wrong beers, my friend!

Good to see you back into it, wrighty.

Suppose I meant to say that the self-satisfaction isn't there, as opposed to a brew that you've lovingly made yourself. All moot and OT though, of course :)
