Making vinegar ?

Hi brew dudes...

Has anyone on the forum made malt vinegar from their beer ?

I've been sippin' on a few home brews here trawling the net, and it doesnt look too difficult.

Would love to see any links to good sites with basic information.

Would also like to eventually make some strawberry or rasberry vinegars, they are 'to die for' as a salad dressing.

Any pointers appreciated.

This is why I'm asking here instead of blindly following every expert out there with 'expertise' in making vinegars...
not joking, this is quoted from a website i found by a self proclaimed vinegar making expert....

I think Doc may have made vinegar. Think he's out camping again at the moment though.

I am 'making' vinegar but from wine.

And by making i mean leaving an opened bottle of homemade wine sitting at the back of the cupboard for months with a small amount of red wine vinegar added to start the process. :shock:

I'll report back in a year :lol:

Not sure about malt vinegar though.

I think malt vinegar or most vinegars appear to be the same process,
just add a small bit of vinegar to start it off, and leave in a dark place
With the lid off.

Will report back whenever I get off my backside and do this.
