Rotten AG setup

Postby rotten » Sunday Nov 14, 2010 10:02 pm

G'day guys, I promised pics a while ago now of my setup but have never got around to it. Camera didn't help either. All sorted now so here it is.

Image

Mash tun, 50 ltr techniice ice box with copper manifold. Includes specially made stainless fittings as ice box has 1 inch hole, to half inch threaded both ways for tap and manifold. Many hrs lost and questions asked to sort that out.

Image

Hopefully you can see temp @ 66c, perfect.

Image

How clear is that?

Image

drain & sparge, notice hawks sticker.

Image

No channeling there, gotta love that.

Image

Drain to kettle, 3 tier gravity feed, I only lift cube once which is fine. Built tier's earlier this week, had a stacks on setup until then. (bench, crates, chairs, the lot).

Image

Styrian Golding hop flowers and EKG in improv hop sock, Fuggles loose (pellets). For the record Timothy Taylor Landlord being brewed, 1469 wyyeast.

Long post I know. Thanks to all @ Home Brew & Beer. Would not have this awesome setup if I do say so myself, and I do, without you guys.
Cheers

Ha Ha, that's my trusty lab Zena. She's 12 yrs old and not liking the attention of a 6 mth old pup we have. She laid there or under the pool table for the whole time I was brewing.

G'Day Rotten, love the set up.

Just my 2 cents, but if you change the Hawthorn sticker on the mash tun for a Carlton one you will make far superior brews.

And SWMBO will be much happier because the books will show that you've made a superior beer for less cost than us other brewers :D

I think with either sticker your beers will be quite ok but not the best however they will take a dramatic dive after 6 months and have very poor form..

Don't let her know I fiddle with the books!! What SWMBO doesn't know won't hurt her. Did you know you can get a monster mill & plate chiller for a mere $250.

I never let a chance slip to burn a Blue, just a pity I couldn't get in a dig at the Tigers.

Back on topic, nice setup Rotten, should make brewday easier (and probably safer) now.
