Sound like some sort of S&M at the moment.
I'm wanting to tackle my first mash and would like some advice on what these terms mean.
Olivers link http://www.alpha-byte.demon.co.uk/homebrew.htm is dead and I have had no luck so far finding the info I need online.
Does anyone have a link to a site which gives a simple explaination of these processes? Or can someone just outline what MASH and RACKING are? Is mashing just griding and boiling the grains in water?
The beer I would like to tackle...
3.00 kg Liquid Malt Extract
1.25 kg Pilsener Malt
0.25 kg Carapils
Northern Brewer, Hallertau and Tettnanger hops to achieve 25 IBU\'s
Whirlfloc
Wyeast 2124, 2206 or Wyeast 2308.
DCL Saflager 34/70.
This is a Grumpy's recipe.
Cheers
