I've never heard of it being sold seperately. The only amylase that I know of (aside from the stuff from the grains themselves) are koji- used for making sake, miso, soy sauce; or the the use of saliva.

I have heard that the enzymes can be bought from an Australian Malting co. but I don't recall which one. GLS mentioned them in one of the Oz Craftbrewer podcasts in which they were discussing gluten free beers (maybe one of the april-may 2006 shows?).

Beano (fart preventor from chemist) apparently does the same thing... which i believe is a form of synthetic enzyme
