just did my first partial mash... when i emptied out the brew pot, i noticed there was some black residue on the bottom of the pot, i suppose the malt caught a little bit, not badly. do you think that is enough to leave burnt tastes in my brew?

worried...

Beerbelly,
Did it smell burnt? NOt being an expert I'd suggest if the smell wasn't there then the taste probably won't be either. As I said having only done one partial myself I'm no expert though.

At this stage let it ferment, check gravity and taste the samples as a guide!
Good Luck

I wouldn't think so, it might make the beer darker though through carmalization.
