Just in the middle of my first AG brew Mashed in and hit 64C but was after 66 so adjusted that. Kettle is now boiling. If i got my calcs right i think i hit an efficiency of around 80% into the boiler . Didnt measure volume into boiler altho i will next time.

Here is the grain bill i used. Based on TL SNPA Clone.

Ingredients Amount Item Type % or IBU
2.00 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (Thomas Fawcett) (5.9 EBC) Grain 44.4 %
1.00 kg Munich I (Weyermann) (14.0 EBC) Grain 22.2 %
1.00 kg Pale Malt, Ale (Barrett Burston) (5.9 EBC) Grain 22.2 %
0.30 kg Wheat Malt, Pale (Weyermann) (3.9 EBC) Grain 6.7 %
0.20 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt -120L (236.4 EBC) Grain 4.4 %
16.00 gm Chinook [12.40%] (60 min) Hops 22.8 IBU
24.00 gm Amarillo Gold [8.90%] (15 min) Hops 12.2 IBU
16.00 gm Cascade [6.30%] (0 min) Hops -
1 Pkgs American Ale II (Wyeast Labs #1272) Yeast-Ale

Congrats Rob...Welcome to the dark side.
Once you taste this beer you will know why people do AG brewing.
I did my first AG Wheat beer today.
Hit all temps and got 24 litres into the No Chill Cube.Didnt use rice hulls and didnt get a stuck sparge. Beerbelly falsie works a treat. :D
I brew the beer I drink

Wort is now into the fermenter. I used the nochill method overnight. My first AG went well apart from not hitting the final volume into the fermenter. I fell 6ltrs short with an OG of 1.059 when i was after 1.050. I have changed a few things in beersmith so my next brew i should hit the volumes better. Now i got to wait till i can give it a taste test.

Cheers
