Buying Grain

Postby Cadbury » Tuesday Apr 14, 2009 3:59 pm

Sorry to ask so many questions, but I know bugger all at the moment.
I'm about to start doing AG and I live on the Gold Coast. The nearest place I can get the grain is in Brisbane(2hour round trip) I don't want to be going up there every 2 weeks to buy bits and pieces. If I only want to make ales(for now) can I buy a large amount of a base malt for all my ales, and then buy the other grains instead of having to go into the HB shop with this long list of grains from multiple recipes and store them until I need them. What do other people do? I don't have a mill.
Thanks

Hi Cadbury,

it's a fixed delivery cost up to 25kg to the gold Coast from our shop ($7.90) from memory.
We can send down recipies all cracked & prepacked ready to go. we have several GC customers that order 3 to 4 recipies at a time...

cheers

thanks for that. It clears a lot of things up for me. I'll start hunting for some recipes and make an order.
