alcotec swedish vodka kit

Postby garydp » Monday May 16, 2011 10:40 am

I have recently made vodka using the alcotec vodka kit. i followed everything to the letter and have now bottled 23 litres. I have noticed that it has a very yeasty smell and taste, almost to a point were its not nice to drink. is there anyway of reducing this flavour or will this go after time?

Is it 23L after you've distilled it?

OK a bit more googling shows me that this is a no distill kit so you end up with a high alcohol fermented beverage rather than a distilled spirit. I have no experience with these but maybe some filtration or or mare carbon treatment may help. My gut feeling is that you're not going to end up with a clean spirit like you can with distilling. May be best as a mixer.
