just made a 1125 ml bottle of samuel willards Queensland dark rum ,I used 25 ml , has anybody used more essence to improve the smoothness and colour and how long it takes to age, would 50 ml be to much. cheers old52

I used to always mix less alcohol with essences than recommended.
How much though will be a personal choice.

I think its a personal taste thing. I've tried more than recommended, less than recommended and even mixed two different flavours together, just to see what taste or flavours I'd get. I eventually found one that I like and now just stick to that.
