Victory Hotel Gone

Been to a good pub, or bad, lately? Found a bar with a great selection of beer? Looking for a new local or somewhere to visit on holidays?

Those of us in Brissie are probably well aware, the Victory Hotel burned down on Sat night/Sun morning. No details about the exact cause but the damage is pretty significant so it will be out of action for a quite a while. Can't say I was ever a fan of the Vic but it's never good to see a pub destroyed.

That was a serious inferno! I wonder if they're going to rebuild or turn it into another condo tower...
The trouble with old pubs that burn down and are rebuilt is they seem to lose character no matter how much they try to replicate the old place.

Turns out it's been rebuilt and reopened earlier this year. Nice that it wasn't turned into apartments.

It is a shame to have a beer garden that doesn't have any good beer in it. Hopefully they upgraded their taps as well.

I can not beleive they rebuilt this place exactly the same as the old place.

I heard they even poured 50 years of beer into the carpet to give it the same sticky feel!!!!

I went there on Friday, did one lap and walked out.

The pub across the round, I think it si the exchange has a nice rooftop bar though.
