Adelaide Brewpubs / Micro Breweries

Been to a good pub, or bad, lately? Found a bar with a great selection of beer? Looking for a new local or somewhere to visit on holidays?

Adelaide Brewpubs / Micro Breweries

Hey All,

I will be in Adelaide for a couple of weeks in January and was hoping I might be able to stop by any brewpubs/micro-breweries that anyone can recommend.

Would greatly appreciate the assistance. Obviously, I won't be too dissapointed if there isn't anything as I will still have good ole coopers PA to tide me over. :)

Cheers

Matt

Lobethal Bierhaus (http://www.ahcb.com.au/) is definitely worth a visit if you can get up to the hills. Grumpy's (http://www.grumpys.com.au/) as well, although I haven't been there in a while.

The Brew Boys in Regency Park (http://www.brewboys.biz/) should have a cellar door open from early December which would be worth a visit.

The Port Dock Brewery Hotel in Port Adelaide (http://www.portdockbreweryhotel.com.au/) is OK if you're out that way. The Holdfast in Glenelg... not worth it in my opinion.

I have heard good things about the Steam Exchange in Goolwa (http://www.steamexchange.com.au/) but am yet to make it down there.

The King's Head in the city has a lot of SA brews on tap and in bottles as well.

And of course, no trip to Adelaide is complete without a visit to the Wheaty (http://www.wheatsheafhotel.com.au/) in Thebarton.

Lobethal Bierhaus is just up the road from me and makes a damn fine beer. The sight of all that stainless steel is a turn on for some.....

Grumpys i find can be a bit hit and miss. Bloody good wood oven pizzas tho and their porter (when its on) it easily the best porter i have tasted.

Steam Exchange make some sensational beers, their stout is the best commercial stout i have drunk (2nd only to my own). They have tap only beers 2 so try their oak aged beers and a vanilla bourbon porter. I have a mixed 6 pack of their beers in my car to take around to a mates place tonight!
