Stout Sausages in Gravy

Postby Chris » Thursday Nov 09, 2006 11:53 am

I did sausages in gravy last night (with mashed potato of course). When making the gravy, I substituted the water for stout. Worked a treat. Even my beerphobic girlfriend loved it.

I've done this before with bitter, but the stout really rounded it out a bit better. Great colour gravy too. It is even better with a bit of Worstershire sauce in the mix.

Seen most of them but had to look twice at this one....

Stout chocolate cake - when you think about it that would work.
