Bottle to Keg

Has anyone tried transferring a batch of bottled beer to a keg?

Yes, I understand there is a high risk for contamination.

Probably not to mention oxidation. Purging the keg with CO2 first might help. As may a funnel with tube attached that reaches to the bottom of the keg. Or would you transfer all the beer to one vessel such as a bucket first then transfer to the keg in one go?

Anyway, why do you want to do it?

A funnel connected to a tube connected to a liquid out disconnect connected to the liquid out post of a purged keg with its hatch sealed and pressure-relief valve open, may do the job. You'd probably want two or even three people doing it so as to keep a constant flow of the bottled beer into the funnel, limiting the amount of bubbles that would end up in the keg.

You'd also want to get through the keg pretty quickly after transferring too, I'd imagine, as wet cardboard (oxidisation) isn't a tasting note you want your mates picking up on in your beer.

I doubt it's really worth the effort. Plus considering how ill I am at the moment....just me breathing near the beer would be risky.
