carbonated my first keg!!

Postby mr magoo » Thursday Mar 08, 2007 3:09 pm

Well i carbinated my first keg last night and i am enjoying a pint as i type!
thanks to all of you who gave me some advise. I would have liked to cold condition my brew for a bit longer but i just couldn't wait! The carbination was easy, i just purged with gas for about 3mins at about 270psi whilst rocking my keg, then l burped the keg and put the gas up to 300psi and left it over night, then turned it off this morning, pulled my first beer a couple of hours ago and it was perfect!!!!!!! Too easy :P :P
mmmmmmmmm beer................

Strewth! My reg on the low side conks out at around 88psi!!
If you're using 200+ psi, who needs a reg anyway.

Also can't believe it wasn't totally over carbonated even if KPA were used at those levels & length of time!!!

P.S. Well done though on getting it right though & welcome to the wonderful world of kegging :)

Yes, but he reckons he rocked it for 3 minutes as well :!: :!: My kegs are carbonated with just 50 secs of rocking...
