Hi, Does anyone know how to go about doing this, i gather i need an adaptor to reverse the thread, but do i need to invert the big bottle or unscrew a bleed valve or something, i really don;t know and don;t want to blow myself up.

Why don't you take it back and replace the empty bottle for another full one from the sodastream sales rep. Surely that's what the soda heads do when they empty the bottle?

Cheers,
TL

just thought it would be easier than driving and finding and paying someone when i could just fill one off my own 6 kg bottle and only pay to get that refilled.

You're talking about transferring liquid CO2 from a 1000 odd psi source to the soda stream bottle - I have heard it's done but jeez, I'll give that caper a miss!

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I might get one of these replacement/refilled sodastream bottles in Melbourne? Just tried my local K-Mart and Big W and neither of them had even heard about them... The K-mart only seems to sell the syrup packs now...
Was considering taking my bottle down to the local welding supplier and have him refill it for me.

Cheers,

Tim

oh crap! I hope Kmart aren't getting out of them, up here they only charge $10.98 for a bottle swap, haven't asked Big W yet.

check your local "brew on premise" establishment. the one down here does them for $9 exchange.

Just went to the BigW in the city (Melbourne QV Centre) and they have replacement cylinders for about $12 changeover. When I initially asked about buying the bottles outright the girl said $12 so I tried to get one before she double-checked. But someone else said that they only do changeovers and not new bottles.... One should do anyway....

Thanks for the responses anyway.

Cheers,

Tim

I've seen new ones in Big W in Mackay for about $40. Obviously so you can have a spare on the go until you get your empty replaced.
