Sharing a bottle?

G'day gents,
A couple of mates and I want to start kegging our beer. Is there a need for each of us to purchase a gas bottle, or can this be shared? (We live up the road from each other) Once the keg is gassed, how often, or how much beer later does it have to be re-gassed?

You need gas to pour the beer.

As beer comes out of the keg the pressure drops.

Whilst you can normally pour quite a few pints before you need to top up the gas this isn't ideal.

The other option is that you buy 1 CO2 bottle to carbonated your beer (or you carbonate naturally using sugar) and then use mini CO2 bottles to dispense.
