I overgassed it!!! How do i lower the gas?

Postby Daron1973 » Wednesday Nov 04, 2009 7:56 pm

OK, so I stuffed up and gassed at 325 for 2 days (about 55 hours) and my first taste tonight gave me more head than I've ever wanted.
Once the jar settles the rew is fine, just half a bloody pint is there!

I gave the keg a bog burp until it stopped burping, but still a creamy head. I'm hoping this will affect it and relieve the build up aneough to enable a decent pour.

Has anyone got a suggestion that is better?

Cheers

Daz

Not a solution as such but a small amount of water in the bottom of your glass should ease the problem somewhat. Your problem might be a little extreme for this to fix it but it's worth a shot, no? I hear it works for overcarbed bottles anyway.

Burp the keg to zero, let more gas out of solution. Trial & error till you get it back to where it should be.

shake the keg, burp, leave, come back 2 hours later, shake, burp, until she runs sweet as a golden river of goodness!
