I assume you mean hydrogen peroxide?

Where did you buy this from and what concentration is the solution?

Hydrogen peroxide can be used as a no rinse sanitiser (no z) but i haven't seen it marketed in the homebrew scene.

Make sure you use gloves when handling it, your hands will go white otherwise.

A couple of the chain store 'homebrew suppliers' have a hydrogen peroxide based sanitiser. It's 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Ive used it, there is one called brewshield.
You can smell the hydrogen peroxcide in it so i figured it was strong enough to kill stuff.

You basically dilute it as per instructions and use a spray bottle to get a nice fine spray over surface. Leave it for 15 min.

I have done 4 beers so far all bottled batches and yet t have an issue.

Mind you if my bottles look yuck i go back to bottle brush, bleach and some hard work.

Smell?

Hydrogen peroxide is odourless. I've used it at up to 50% concentration which is fun when you get it on your skin.

Where do you buy brewshield from Aidan?

The Brewcraft stuff works fine, but it is very expensive for what you get. I found a bottle only enough for 5 or 6 brews.
I now use Iodophor as my sanitiser, and have been using the same bottle for close on 2 years, with another year still left in it. Definitely heaps cheaper. Starsan is another much cheaper long term option.

You can buy 50% peroxide from a few places.

1 place in Adelaide is the hong kong discount hardware on research rd in pooraka.

Store it in the fridge as unstabilised H2O2 decomposes (to water) and the lower temps slows this process down.

Hi Buster,

If you're having problems getting it, just go online. Grain and Grape or Craft Brewer should be able to help.

Cheers,
