Coopers microbrewery kits - coles supermarkets

Postby RUM57L » Thursday Aug 05, 2010 10:31 am

Hi all,

This week i just picked up a 2nd microbrewery kit from the local coles.
it was marked as "Reduced to clear" and the price was down to $60 smackas, normally $89, not thinking i grabbed it and placed it onto the end of the trolley... after difusing the missus's erruption at why i'd need a second fermenter... I glanced at the shelf to notice all the home brew stuff was marked as reduced to clear!
Everything was marked down a few dollars... from cans to carb drops to caps... all reduced to clear out.

I stuffed what i could into the trolley while dodging uppercuts from the minister of finance.

Figured i'd let everyone know here to check out coles and see if they can pick up a few cheapies...

although i suggest shopping solo

Ben

Just so you know, everything is being marked down because Coles and Bi-Lo are dropping their homebrew sections. Better warm up for a blue with the missus and head back in there, fella!

Not all stores are doing the big markdown yet, apparently.

I noticed that some of the lines were reduced to clear at my local, but not all. Seems strange if they are dropping the HB ranges.

I've been watching this, but until today apart from reduced stock no sales. Just picked up cans of Cooper's Ginger Beer for $5 and coopers malt for $2 for 500g from my local Coles.

Cheers

Must say I too checked out local coles today, NO SALES. Not disapointed really, but a few cheap bases for partials would have been nice. I did notice no cheap brands left, only Coopers.
Cheers

I went back this weekend,

Nothing left except for 3 packs of PET caps I scored for 1.60 each.

There were PET bottles but for some reason these we not on sale reduced to clear.

My local Coles here in Gympie had HB gear back on the shelves yesterday, mostly Coopers kits and kilos, anybody any ideas what they're up to?

I would guess that they are simply shifting stock around to hot areas where the remains are sure to sell.
