Just bought 23 tins (all they had) of assorted Coopers tins from Harris Scarfe at Cranbourne (Vic). All past their expiry, but only $2.01 each!
Might be worth checking out your local HS to see if they're clearing out their old stock?
To make the deal even sweeter, after waiting 20 minutes in the check-out queue the girl was so flustered at being so busy, she only charged me for one tin!!! That's less than nine cents per tin...
Now before you say "Hey, that's theft..." I did consider letting the girl know of her mistake, but;
a. They were practically giving them away anyway
b. They only had one register operating, causing long delays
c. I'm sharing half with my mate
and d. I gave 2 tins to the old lady in front of me who witnessed the transaction and also said nothing...
Anyhoo, enough gloating, check out your local HS, you never know your luck! (Don't bother with Cranbourne, I've cleaned them out )

You know,

I bought my daughter a game boy at Christmas, She promptly sat on it and broke it. My wife said "We will take it back say it came this way and get a new one"

Dogger said "No, Thats wrong, we will take it back but explain what happened"

I won the battle so we took it back, I explained to the lady what had happened and was it possible to have it fixed.

The lady looked and nodded and said yes it could be fixed but since my daughter broke it the first day likely there was a flaw with it anyway so she replaced the thing for free.

I told that to restore the faith in the human being,

I hope the little check out girl doesn't have to pay the balance.

kind of off topic, butIi once went to the local newsagent and the lad who served me gave me too much change about $50 worth, when I realised and had already walked outside, I went back in to tell him that he'd made a mistake with the change.

He became very arrogant and told me that I should check my change, before walking away and that he hadn't made any mistake. I turned around and walked out the door but over my shoulder told him that I'd obviously been mistaken and that I must have given him a $100 instead of a $10, his face was a treat., especially when the boss overheard.

Wan ker, I tried to do the right thing but didn't lose any sleep over my good fortune. He thought that I was complaining about too little change.

Same thing happened to me at a bottleshop in Coolum, Queensland.

We were there in February one year and being about 30C each day and 70 per cent humidity you need to drink a lot (that's my excuse anyway).

We went to the bottleshop and bought about five bottles of wine and a slab, which the bloke said came to about $40 (should have been about $90).

I said, "What, for all that?"

To which he replied, "Yes, would you like to show you the receipt?"

I wanted to tell him that I didn't need to see the proof that he was undercharging me, but instead said not to worry about it and told the missus I'd see her in the car, grabbed the grog and left while she paid.

in the Rundle Mall (SA) harris scarfe I bought a can of Coopers Ginger Beer off of the "we dropped this pallate and dented all the cans" table, even though the can I got was in perfect nick (no dents!)...

Price on the can said $12.99
15% discount for the dented stock (as it was on the dented table)
Ened up getting it for $8 at the register, stuffed if I know how that happened!
