VB midstrength - IT MAKES ME SICK

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

VB midstrength - IT MAKES ME SICK

Postby FullStrengthOrNothing » Tuesday Jul 03, 2007 1:19 am

Sign this petition to remove the beer that disgraces the VB name. We should all be ashamed that we have let this sham go so far. Put a stop to midstrength lager right now.

Any true Australian would happily add there name to the list.

 I remain to be convinced that it is possible to disgrace the VB name.

Quit your whinging & just mix it 50/50 with Tooheys Platinum Extra Dry. Problem sorted.

It is said that Fosters could save up to $20 million in taxes by lowering the alcohol content by .1%.

I tried a VB Mid the other day & was pleasantly surprised, I reckon it tasted better than VB heavy (which isn't hard) but it did remind me of the bigger brother.

I still rate MID higher than both VB gold & XXXX gold though (of the common QLD yobbo middy beers)

I dont really drink VB but they say the taste wont change by dropping the alcohol slightly but can anyone remember when they dropped the strengh of carlton draught the same time they went to the new labels? It used to be my favorite generic beer but when they reduced the alcohol it instantly tasted like crap to me and i never bought another slab i had a word to the rep and he basicaly said i must be dreaming my mates agree with me anyone else :?: :?:

A bit off-topic, but from the same article

Many of the drinks were laced with vodka, which was tasteless, to make it easier for young people to consume.

Yeah... "laced" with vodka, nice emotive language there

Just a point of interest, how come the two top topics of conversation in this category are both about VB?

Seems like a bit of a pattern here.

I can`t see how it matters really. They will all drink it when there`s nothing else. It`s just that they wont admit it on a hb forum. The whole pretence is so obvious, and so laughable.
If you went/ were somewhere and drank a VB because there was nothing else at all, for Christ sake say so and quit the charades.
