HB&B beer lotto

Postby Planner » Friday Nov 19, 2010 8:29 am

Is there enough member interest at hb&b to run a beer lotto along the lines of the lottos run at AHB? I realise with a smaller member base we wouldn’t be able to fill the 80 places they use, but could we round up maybe 15-20 members.

Rules are fairly simple, everyone picks a number between 1 and x (x will depend on number of entries), a winner is drawn by an independent source, lotto or keno for example. The winner then receives a bottle of HB from each of the non-winning participants (see how PC you become with kids at primary school).

Open to all brewers and all members, K&K through to AG, 1 post through to thousands of posts.

Express interest here, and if enough people are keen I will list the rules in full (probably cut and paste AHB QldKev’s rules) and decide how the winner will be drawn.

Oliver, Geoff or Gregb if this is out of line, mod as required.

Will cost a little over $10 after the purchase of the wine bottle box from Aussie post.

I'll be in it to win it or share a brew with a member. :D

Looks like some interest being generated, so I'll see if I can get it off the ground.

Here are the ground rules: (thanks mostly to Jye of AHB)

1. Post in this thread to say you are in and add your name to the list.
2. The winner will be first valid number drawn out of the Tattslotto draw on Saturady the 18th December 2010 (draw 3069), if no winner the first drawn on Saturday the 25th December 2010 (draw 3071) will be the winner, and all non-winners have to send that person a bottle of their finest brew. Lotto results are available at http://www.tatts.com.au
3. Bottles can be what ever you feel comfortable mailing (PET, glass or stubbies) and should come to about 750ml. It is up to the winner to notify all non-winners by PM of address details.
4. Beers should be mailed as soon as possible. I realise with Christmas people will be away on leave etc, so no exact date is given as a deadline. The winner is at liberty to name and shame any welchers.
5. Please remember to attach a label so the winner can identify the beer and brewer.
5. You may enter more than once, but if you don't win you must send a bottle for each entry; each bottle must be a different beer.

Tattslotto plays 45 numbers, so 45 entries max, if we don't get 15 entries by the Friday before the draw (17th December 2010) I'll cancel the lotto, put my tail between my legs and call it a failure.

Tasted the homegrown POR rye golden ale last night when racking it.

Very happy with it, fresh POR is nothing like POR pellets that most are familiar with. These are slightly fruity/floral and go very well with the rye.

Shame no-one will be getting it
