You asked for pure randomness: I like lawn bowls.

I'm sick to death of trying to find a bottle opener every time I sit down with a beer at the computer to compose some more heart-felt inspired thought-provoking comments on homebrewandbeer.com.au. When is someone going to invent a mouse with a built in bottle opener?

Why not just mount a bottle opener on your computer

Lob, Earle has gone a bit fancy, just use the 3.5" drive slot.

And the cd drive tray is a great cup holder too.

Played social night lawn bowls with my old man when i was in high school.

I still remember the after match bowls of jatz and cube of cheese and the obligatory chook/meat raffle.

A few years ago the local bowls club sponsored the wine and cheese (goon and coon) night at the entertainment centre here for the showing of Crackerjack. My wife and I laughed at the jokes while the bowls crowd laughed at the bowls. At intermission (still required due to the projector) we went back out to the foyer for a supper of sandwiches, scones, cakes and cups of tea with the oldies. It was just like being in the movie.

Doc, the Jatz and cubes of Coon Tasty live on in bowls clubs everywhere!

The little lady and I are actually members of two bowls clubs (the one across the road from us for the purposes of getting cheap drinks and being able to practice for no charge, and the other one for a variety of reasons including bowling penant (not very well)). We even splashed out on our own bowls on the weekend! Getting serious

Geez Oliver, you will start driving a Toyota Camry while wearing your bowls hat very shortly. You might even start putting lemonade in your beer

You don't drive an old volvo by any chance? Wearing a hat?

I'm a member of a bowls club, well, actually they call themselves a Country Club.

There's two bowling greens in front of the clubhouse. I don't play bowls, but they do happen to have an 18 hole golf course at the back of the clubhouse...

I don't drive a Volvo, I drive a Subaru. One of my brothers, 10 years younger, drives a Volvo. Then again, his is paid for and maintained by his employer, so it's not all bad.

I drink my beer out of 500 ml euro glasses. None of those nancy small ones for me.

I like the 1 litre stein. You can put a full overcarbed long neck in it, in one pour and it still only counts as one beer.

I tell you what, if driving a Camry or a Volvo would help me bowl half as well as some of those oldies, I'd almost be tempted!

Last season the other team included a 92-year-old and a 96-year-old and we got thumped. That may say more about our ability than theirs.

But there will be no lemonade near my beer. Incidentally, both the clubs have Coopers PA in stubbies, and one also has Mild, Sparkling and Stout. No wonder I spend too much time there.

I suffered through 2 Camrys as my prescibed company vehicles.
When I lived in WA, we went out to Hyden (Wave Rock). Tried to see what the Camry would do when we were some distance from Perth. It accelerated nicely to about 160 kph, then the darned chip kicked in and decided that any quicker wasn't good for the usual Camry buyer's health and ability. Took almost 5 minutes more to get it to 180 kph. I gave up to see what it would really do.
In contrast, the Subaru chip actually believes you could and should drive at a good speed. It allows me to accelerate to 190 to 200 kph in no time at all, with absolutely no lag. OK, I last did it about 6 years ago, I'm really a law-abiding licence protecting cruise-control at no more than the speed limit kind of guy these days.
