2012 Easter Lotto

Postby earle » Friday Feb 10, 2012 10:14 am

OK, 2012 is getting along now so its time to start organising the next lotto. Thinking we might draw it on the Easter long weekend unless anyone has other suggestions.

Here are the ground rules: (thanks mostly to Jye of AHB)

1. Post in this thread to say you are in and add your name to the list.
2. The winner will be first valid number drawn out of the Tattslotto draw on Saturday the 7th April 2012 (draw 3205), if no winner the first drawn on the next Saturday's draw will be the winner (and so on until we have a winner), and all non-winners have to send that person a bottle of their finest brew. Lotto results are available at http://www.tatts.com.au
3. Bottles can be what ever you feel comfortable mailing (PET, glass or stubbies) and should come to about 750ml. It is up to the winner to notify all non-winners by PM of address details.
4. Beers should be mailed as soon as possible but no exact date is given as a deadline. The winner is at liberty to name and shame any welchers.
5. Please remember to attach a label so the winner can identify the beer and brewer.
6. You may enter more than once, but if you don't win you must send a bottle for each entry; each bottle must be a different beer.
7. The winner has two weeks after the draw to claim their win by posting a reply in this thread and PMing the non-winners with their name and address. In the event that the winner does not claim their win, a new winner will be decided using the Tatts draw 2 weeks after the original winner's number came up using the mehtod described in 2 above.

2012 Easter Lotto

Postby bullfrog » Friday Feb 10, 2012 6:49 pm

Before entering this one, I'm very conscious that I still owe both Jello and Earle a bottle each fir their past wins. (Despite explicit instruction against it because I wanted to age it a little, mates over Christmas drained the IPA I last talked about and now all I have worth offering is a strong dark ale that still hasn't quite yet hit it's straps so I'm uncomfortable sending -- don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but it's only getting better and is not yet where I want it to be.)

So my question is this: would people be averse to me submitting a vanilla and cinnamon cider as my entry? Have one brewing at the minute, is all, and should be cleared up and ready to go in about a month.

Jello and Earle, you can both choose to have me send one of the dark ales now, send one after it's aged more or send one of the ciders once it's done.

I might skip this, I would love to be in for the chance to win so much lovely beer but I'm still only new to this and my beer isn't anything to go out of your way for. Maybe ill enter one when I have made a really good beer.

Dont stress about that AR. That is the beauty of the lotto draws, it involves the most and least experienced of us. Most of us are yet to perfect the art, and personally, I like getting feedback. It will cost you $10-12 if you don't win, and imagine the stash of interesting brews you would get to try if you do!

I'm happy to wait until after I've moved for you to send mine. Should be about 6 weeks or so. I'm also happy for you to decide although I've been trying to make some ciders for my wife so an example of a good one would be great also. I just can't recall who but I did receive a bottle of cider along with a belgian from someone else in the lotto. Still to be tried though, this reminds me to put it in the fridge.

Hi all, I've been away a bit. I hope you all are well here, I see no one took my seat, thanks.
I've even cut down on my beering, you see I'm gettin' a bit of a tummy. Miss' says it's the beer?
But I hopefully will have something worthy to send the winner, or maybe once again you all may help build my beer stocks up again. They dropped considerably over Xmas with thanks to the extended family. But it was a lot of fun!

I only have a stout that I'm not extremely happy with and I've only just put down a stone and wood clone last night. I think it might be a bit green but if everyone is happy with that ill enter it with that one.
